¹ú²úÊÓƵ is to consider freezing council tax at a special meeting next month, following a series of discussions with the Scottish Government over the last few weeks.
¹ú²úÊÓƵ’s registrars conducted nearly 500 marriages and more than 20 civil partnerships in 2023, and things are not showing any signs of slowing down soon, with 20 ceremonies already conducted so far this year and a further 314 in the diary.
Two new Learning Centres for children and young people with complex Additional Support Needs (ASN) living in some of Argyll and Bute’s most remote areas will open towards the end of 2024.
The Deputy First Minister and the Leader and Deputy Leader of ¹ú²úÊÓƵ held positive discussions to discuss Argyll and Bute’s particular circumstances. This follows confirmation of £62.7 million that was previously contingent on the outcome of the Spring Budget. Discussions will continue with the focus on resolving any outstanding issues.
¹ú²úÊÓƵ is urging community groups not to miss up to £2,500 funding for eligible projects, as the deadline to apply to the Supporting Communities Fund closes on Monday 18 March 2024.
¹ú²úÊÓƵ is seeking your views on a new design for Oban Town Centre North intended to make the area a more attractive, friendly space for walking, wheeling and cycling.
The Leader of ¹ú²úÊÓƵ has written to the UK Government for support in ensuring that funding for councils reaches Argyll and Bute as well as other areas.
